![]() ![]() They range in price and size, but all have an artistic style that reflects the area the hotel is located in. There are 11 types of rooms to choose from. Couple that with the area’s rich history steeped in the emergence of urban, vibrant street art, and it makes for a very “New York City style” vacation. This hotel gives guests some of the most breathtaking views of the Manhattan city skyline. The area is known for its artistic culture and it shows in the hotel’s décor and style. We wish the wonderful staff of Indigo well.Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York is an award winning hotel that’s in the very center of the Lower East Side of New York City. All in all, a very different but enjoyable stay. Also the best bagel and lox (with cream cheese and onion, of course) that my wife and I have ever tasted (Gaspe Nova, if you are interested, but they have many different kinds of Lox, Nova, Scottish and Irish salmon, Gravlax, etc.). In spite of all the hoopla about Katz's on the corner, the place not to miss is Russ and Daughters, just round the corner, where smoked fish of all kinds is to be had. On the back of the closet door, perhaps? A limited variety of food and decent coffee was available at the bar at the end of the large reception room/lounge on the 14th floor. That would be different! There should be a mirror in the bedroom as well as the one in the bathroom, so that husband and wife both have access to a mirror at the same time. As I suggested to someone there, perhaps they could be dyed indigo blue with a monogram in orange on the breast pocket. There really should be bath robes to go with the wonderful bathroom. Not really a specialty item so just seemed strange. I can understand 1 morning running out but I heard numerous requests all 3 mornings. During our entire 3 night stay they never had regular black tea. Couple of kinks especially at the lobby coffee bar. Bathroom was spacious but the rain head shower never seemed to work properly. Our room had a great view from The Freedom Tower to The Empire State Building. They bought us 2 rounds of drinks Mr Purple. However, our bag was mistakenly placed in an empty room. The manager, Carrie, was very honest & there was about 90 minutes of chaos. It seems they misplaced our bag between the front door & our room. The check in process was smooth, or so we thought. It is also very convenient if you are visiting the Tenement Museum. There are so many restaurants in the neighborhood. Spent 3 nights at Hotel Indigo over Easter Weekend.
